“Bought or Not” Instructions

The Concept: Players will have to guess whether strange eBay® auctions were purchased or not.

Items Needed: Bought or Not cards (included as a separate PDF file).

Instructions: This game can be played as a team game or an individual game. To play it as an individual game, pass out a BOUGHT and a NOT card to each player. To play it as a team game, split your group into teams and give each team a set of cards.

After each auction has been shown, have all players/groups figure out if they think someone purchased the item and have them hold up their answers at the same time.

Note:
- The time the auction ended and place the seller is from were included to make it look more like the original auction, but they don’t need to be read. The important info is the starting bid and shipping costs.
- The answer key has all of the pertinent info on it including the descriptions, so you can print that out and read from it instead of trying to read all the info off the screen (if that’s easier).
- FYI: Some of the auction descriptions were summarized/paraphrased to fit the info on the screen.

 

Scoring: One point for each correct answer.
