“Color Conundrum: Red, Blue or Green” Instructions

The Concept: Kids will figure out which color fits in the blank and run to the front of the room with the correct color card.

Items Needed: Red, blue and green cards that are included as a separate PDF file.

Instructions: Split the group into teams. Four or five teams work well, but if you have a large group, you may need to more teams. Pass out a red, blue and green card to each team, number the teams (or have them pick a name), and have them write their team number (or name) on the front or back of the cards.

After a question is asked, a person from the team will run to the front with the correct color card to complete the word or phrase. Each team’s runner should change after each question so that everyone on the team has a chance to run at least once. So try not to make teams of more than 15 people since there are 15 questions in the game. It works well to have a “home base” for them to try and place the card on, such as a chair, stool or small table. If there’s a pile up and the cards are flying, the team number or name on the card at the bottom of the pile should tell you who got there first.

Scoring: One point for each correct answer. There’s a tiebreaker if any of the teams/individuals are tied after the last question. You could also subtract a point for incorrect answers, but the questions are pretty easy so there shouldn’t be too many of those.
